Esearch Review

Company History:

Esearch was founded 17 years ago and is a leader in the delivery of online surveys. Esearch solely conducts its research online.

Registration Process:

The registration process is lengthy and takes about 6 minutes to complete. It combines demographic information, with questions on medical conditions, and other preferences. Some of the questions seemed to be a bit intrusive. Also you must read a disclosure statement before submitting the registration form. The registration is a single opt in, after you submit the form you receive an email with unsubscribe information as well as a message that they hope to send a survey to you soon. Most survey opportunities will exist for panelists in the U.S., U.K., and Canada.

Members Area:

The members area is limited to just one page that panelists do not have to login to. The FAQs section is difficult to read. The questions are not divided by topic and the layout, fonts, and site navigation make this task even more difficult. The only way to contact the company for additional questions is to email them. Additional issues with the site are that there is no way for panelists to keep track of survey points, Esearch tracks by project only. They suggest the best way for panelists to keep track is to keep a copy of the email invitations received where panelists both qualify and complete the survey and keep the invitation until they are paid. Members cannot simply login to take general surveys, surveys are only emailed to panelists as they qualify for surveys. There are a few quizzes that panelists can take in order to enter into for monthly drawings for $250 cash, iPhone's and Mac computers. Esearch also informs panelists that not all surveys have payments attached to completion but each survey has some kind of incentive however Esearch does not elaborate on what exactly that prize might be.

Rewards:

Rewards for Esearch.com are limited simply to cash payments which they refer to as cash honorariums. There are no thresholds given for redemptions. Details on rewards are presented only on individual surveys notifications. Cash payments are made by either via PayPal or by personal check (upon request) In the FAQ section they do note that some incentive will be involved for the non cash payment surveys however since they have no established reward system that allows panelist to keep track of points it is very difficult to tell what panelists might receive or could qualify for in a drawing.

Conclusion:

Esearch.com is a very rudimentary survey system which is not user friendly for panelists. The parent company shares the site with the survey system, this complicates matters for both panelists as well as companies that are seeking market research from Esearch.com. Regarding rewards, It is unclear how much panelists can earn from survey completions. This is only made clear once a panelist receives a survey.
